An opportunity to learn more about Kanazawa
Experience program to experience history and culture

The “Traditional Culture Experience Program” is an initiative that we are focusing on since its opening in order to expand the enjoyment of travel by experiencing people, things, and places that can only be found in the region.

It holds a variety of workshops that it independently selecst and plans so that people can learn about Kanazawa's history and culture through art and traditional industrial products.

What is gaining popularity is the “Kagahachiman Okiagari, Painting Experience,” where you can enjoy drawing faces that resemble your family members or yourself. The dolls have also been Ishikawa’s tourism PR mascot character. It has a cute round body and sharp eyes, and is popular as an auspicious item that brings blessings such as family prosperity, good health, and business prosperity.

In the “Kokeshi Doll Painting Experience,'' where you can create your own original Kokeshi dolls using the traditional craft Kaga Yuzen fabrics, you can experience the smoothness and color of genuine fabrics, and appreciate the beauty of the gorgeous designs.

The “Local Kyoto Koma or, Spinning Top, Making Experience” supervised by Mr. Yoshiyuki Nakamura, the only craftsman of the Kyoto's traditional industry “Kyokoma” is also a program that can only be done here. In Kanazawa, you can make colorful and unique Kyoto tops with a “seafood bowl” motif.

Each experience program is attended by people of all ages and is also popular with people from overseas who want to experience Japanese cultures.

A self-made kit enables you to try it out anytime. Recommended as a memento or souvenir from your trip.
